A "Hitler boy" stood in its place as a fountain figure until 1945. It was built together with the base and fountain in 1936.

The "Zörbiger Bote" from May 6, 1936 reports: "As can already be seen, excavation work has begun on the market square. In the middle of the lime trees planted last year, a well with a diameter of 6 meters is being built. This has a concrete base, while the fountain surround is provided with clinker bricks. A porphyry column protrudes in the middle, on which a walking Hilter boy stands. 60 cm wide slabs are placed around the fountain. The market square will be further beautified by this construction It should be mentioned that no public money was needed to build the fountain, but that the costs were covered by donations from many Zörbig people."
