The Aartalsee is an absolute highlight of every tour in this region. Bike and footpaths around the lake and some benches and loungers to relax and rest. I will definitely plan a tour to the Aartalsee again!

While the official cycle path follows the country road (very noisy) and follows the barren side at the dam, this combined foot/cycle path is definitely a better choice. Along a nature reserve and below the forest, this path curves along the lake with many rest stops. The culinary highlights (ice cream and fries) can be found on the other side. From the dam wall, the lake becomes more natural and beautiful.
