Gate close to the center of west Jerusalem. Most people do not enter through the actual gate, but through the removed wall section next to it - this can be convenient when it is busy as this is the gate with the highest capacity for large crowds.

The Jaffa Gate is located on the west side of the Old City of Jerusalem, right next to the Citadel of David and leads from the New City to the Christian and Armenian Quarters. The proximity of the citadel shows that this area has always been important for topographical reasons and had to be secured. Because here ran a small pass, through which one came from the west between two hills into the Jerusalem city valley and thus into the center.
