Beautiful castle ruins. The castle was built in several phases from the 13th century onwards by the Lords of Wieladingen and the Ministeriale of the Säckingen Monastery. The 28 meter high keep is still preserved and can be visited.

Great ruins, you can linger in the grass on the old farm. The tower can be reached via a spiral staircase made of bars. I personally had height problems and being able to see through it didn't make it any better.)
There is a nice barbecue area behind the ruins.

Tower was open despite Corona. Was there on Saturday, only a few visitors despite the nice weather. You can also linger longer at the brook and have a barbecue.

I enjoyed the quiet, the distant roar of the Murg and the wonderful view of the fresh green of the spring forest.
An association made the ruins accessible a few years ago and is taking care of their preservation.

Ascent to the castle tower via a spiral staircase. A great view of the Swiss mountains is possible at the top.
There is a nice rest area with a barbecue area nearby.

Castle ruins with an impressive keep. Around 1320, "Hans mit de Giege" was lord of the castle. According to legend, the lord of the castle dressed up as a minstrel and entertained the passing merchants with his violin playing. His beautiful daughter danced to the music and distracted the merchants. Meanwhile, Hans' servants fell upon the merchants' fully loaded carts and stole as much as they could carry and hid the "treasures" in the castle.

When the sky is clear, you have a wonderful view from the tower.
You should not be afraid of heights, as the steps of the spiral staircase and the stairs in the tower itself allow you to look down.
