Great starting point for hikes! The hut is run by two sisters and you are warmly welcomed. The rooms are clean, the breakfast is delicious and the beer is great: berggasthof-kenzenhuette.de.

If you want to hike in the Ostallgäu, you can't avoid the Kenzenhütte. Even the bus ride can be an adventure. There are many tours from the mountain hut, the classic is the route over the Hochplatte.

Super nice cabin with nice staff. With the WANDERBUS from Halblech (Am Mühlbach) up to the hut. Great tours possible from there. We crossed the Hochplatte through the window from west to east

The Kenzenhütte is the ideal starting point for mountain tours to the Hochplatte or the Geiselstein. You can go there from Halblech by bus to get enough time for the mountain walks. Absolute highlight is also the food at the hut. The variety and quality of the food offered there is more than recommended.

Very nice and rustic hut with beds and mattresses from 4 beds per room. For 51€ you get a bed in a 4-bed room with a sumptuous and extremely tasty dinner (salad, hearty minced meat stew, dessert) including second helpings if necessary and a breakfast with many types of cheese, sausage, boiled eggs, jam, Nutella and muesli for self-service . Unfortunately, our beds weren't that hygienic (hair, flaking skin). Cabin sleeping bags are mandatory. You can take a warm shower for a fee, otherwise the water is cold.

Beautiful hut in the middle of the Ammer Mountains. We stayed there overnight on our long-distance hike from Hungary to Switzerland. We felt very comfortable and can highly recommend the hut.

The Kenzenhütte (1,300 m) is located in the Ammergebirge Nature Reserve and is a popular destination in Halblech. This rustic and popular hut in the Allgäu region is easily accessible by hiking bus, mountain bike, or on foot via an easy path. At the "Kenzen"—as the hut is called by locals—the hut serves excellent cuisine with regional specialties, and guests can also stay overnight. Incidentally, it is a private mountain hut belonging to the → Buching-Trauchgau Forest Authority.

Very nice hut, very nice landlady Franzi, simple good food, delicious Palatinate wine. Wide mattresses in the dormitory. Shower with hot water available. The waterfall at the hut is great.
