There are currently 17 brown bears living on 16 hectares of natural forest, which were rescued from all over Europe after being kept in an inappropriate manner. Not species-appropriate does not simply mean an enclosure that is too small, but also dancing bears from Romania or even brown bears from PRIVATE PETS.
The BÄRENWALD Müritz is Western Europe's largest bear sanctuary and an animal welfare project by FOUR PAWS.

Since the bears can rediscover their natural behavior here, they are not always to be seen. You have plenty of opportunities to hide.
Of course, they also hibernate in winter.

Opening hours:
March 15 to October 31: Daily from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m
01 November to 14 March: Daily from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m

Entrance fees:
March 15th to October 31st: Adults: €11.00
Children (from 5 to 14 years): €5.00
Reduced (pupils - from 15 years, students, severely disabled, pensioners): €9.00
Dogs (leashed): 2.00 euros
Family ticket (2 adults + up to 3 children): €26.00

Also highly recommended as a guided tour in winter (not all bears hibernate there). You can learn a lot of information and background knowledge about the park and the brown bears from the dedicated keepers.
