In 2009 there was still no official center for Saxony-Anhalt. Someone found it with the needle method and came up with the small town of Tornitz near Barby. The story can be found on the website dieweltenbummler.de/geografies/geografie-mittelpunkte/mittelpunkt-von-sachsen-anhalt
The local Henschel company built and erected a memorial. So now there was a center in Saxony-Anhalt.
A short time later in 2010, the State Office for Surveying and Geoinformation Saxony-Anhalt calculated an official center point for Saxony-Anhalt on request, which is said to be 13km away on a field west of Schönebeck. But there were no indications of this until 2017. A sponsor was found and a board set up.
In the meantime, the former monument has moved and is now located near the Henschel company on the outskirts of the town on private or company premises. The area was freely accessible when I was there.
Future uncertain, it's private.
I think it would be good if the place was preserved. It does have its story, even if the determination of the point was somewhat imprecise. Unfortunately, no relevant information can be found on site.
