The Melkhuisje in the Stadspark of Aalst originally served as an inn or rest stop for walkers. The house served as a place where visitors to the park could rest, have a drink and a bite to eat. The name "Melkhuisje" is derived from the mandatory and unlimited sale of dairy products from 1916. The house therefore got the name "Melkhuisje" and has since been a beloved place for many Aalst residents and visitors to the park.
