The north side of the White House is much better to look at than the south side. You get closer and have a photo opportunity without a fence if you just want to photograph the White House.

The Irish architect James Hoban took Leinster House (1745–1748) in Dublin, the seat of the Irish Parliament since 1922, as his model. The foundation stone for the first building was laid on October 13, 1792. The structure was constructed from Aquia Creek sandstone quarried from a quarry 45 miles away.
