The outdoor pool of Alveslohe is shielded in the beautiful Pinnau Valley, where it was opened in 1938. Since then, many refurbishment measures and investments have made it a small oasis. The working group "Alveslohe Outdoor Pool", which was constituted in 2003, and the Förderverein Freibad Alveslohe e.V., which meanwhile has 130 members, contributed significantly to this. In the fall and winter months of 2008, the locker building with kiosk was renovated to a completely new appearance analogous to the Helgoland houses in white and blue. Previously, a technical building was built, the drain and inlet of the basin and a number of other works such as earthworks and paving work with total renovation costs in the value of approximately 425,000 € have been completed. In 2009, just under 9,000 bathers from Alveslohe and the neighboring villages were able to enjoy their stay in the outdoor pool. The kiosk, run by Mrs. and Mr. Stuff, offers a diverse selection of food, drinks, ice cream and sweets.
