It is the better alternative to the main road. However, the piece is still annoying because cyclists, pedestrians and cars meet on a narrow piece of mediocre asphalt. It can get crowded, especially in summer. A short piece of large pavement shakes the racing bike properly (hold on to your drinking bottles ;-)).
Edit (06/22): The large pavement has been replaced with flat pavement! Finally you can drive long without shaking and worrying about the bottles.
