On January 1, 1798, notary Guillaume Crampen bought the garden, an orchard and meadows of the former convent of the sisters of Danebroek. The sisters had been ordered to leave their convent on November 11, 1796.

Notary Crampen sold on the majority of the purchased land to Felix Loyaerts, rentier and descendant of a prominent Tiense family, who had a house built there at the beginning of the 19th century.

The city park used to be the garden of the home of former diplomat Vanden Bossche, scion of the entrepreneurial family that founded the first sugar factory in Tienen, and his wife Ikbal Berzeg. She came from the north of the Caucasus.

The couple, who met in Istanbul – formerly Constantinople – married in 1883. Their passion for exotic plants was great: their collection grew to more than 3,500 varieties of plants! The current city park still contains several remarkable trees, such as a tulip tree, a Japanese walnut tree, a crooked catalpa or trumpet tree and a false Christ thorn.

Since 1952, the former Vanden Bossche family estate has housed the specialized children's clinic of the Marguerite-Marie Delacroix Foundation, designed by Tienen architect Paul Nickmans.

The "goed Van den Bossche" which consisted of a house and the park was bought in 1798 by notary G. Crampen. The orchard was sold a little later to Felix Loyaerts who had a house built there in the nineteenth century. After many more changes, the house was inhabited from 1928 by Paul-Georges Kronacker, but only as delegated manager of the NV Tiense Suikerraffinaderij.
