The Bürgerschule fountain is located a little northeast of the historic city center in the immediate vicinity of the Weimarhallenpark and the city museum. The market is within walking distance in less than seven minutes.
The fountain was cast in 1858 to the design of construction inspector Carl Georg Kirchner. It consists of a square base plate made of stone and a pillar.
A visit is worth the fountain.

On the square in front of the town school, a late classic cast-iron pump well with the gold-plated figure of a reading boy (boy with gospel) was erected in 1858. The so-called "Citizens School Fountain" was designed by the building inspector Carl Georg Kirchner and was cast by the Hagans company in Erfurt. After the fountain was damaged and restored in 1987, the original boy's zinc cast figure was replaced by a gold-plated cast in aluminum alloy. The pump well is still functional and receives its water from the raven sources.
