It is not without reason that Ludwigslust's Schlosstraße is the city's main street and, compared to many other main streets in Germany, is certainly a very special eye-catcher.

The 35 meter wide road begins at the Schlossbrücke and offers a wide variety of road users - from drivers to cyclists and pedestrians to horse riders - their own zones so that they do not endanger each other.

But what is even more impressive: the street itself forms an axis of symmetry and it seems as if one side of the street mirrors the other exactly. Each house corresponds to its counterpart in shape, height and even width. The free space next to it is not chosen at random either, but is always the same size as the free space on the other side of the street.

With so much symmetry, it is no wonder that neighbors often agree on planting their balconies facing the street.

Ludwigslust is known for its typical linden trees and so of course they should not be missing on the Schlossstrasse. This avenue-like planting gives the Schlossstrasse the final touch to make it a true boulevard.

The Schlossstraße in Ludwigslust is simply wonderful, because here you have a lot of space for both cyclists and pedestrians. And the people who drive here can't complain either. The brick houses that are lined up here are a feast for the eyes. There are also a few cafes and shops that invite you to linger.
