Theodora Palace Hainburg
The long side of a hall building with a pair of coupled windows can still be seen on the city side of this area. The cloverleaf arched end of the double window (similar to the residential tower of the castle) suggests it was built in the time of Leopold VI. close. The traditional name "Theodora" would also be justified here, since she (wife of Duke Leopold VI.) stayed in Hainburg around 1225. In 1226 she is said to have been expelled from the city by Henry the Cruel (the duke's second-born son), who had taken Hainburg. This scene is also shown in the Babenberger Stammbau. Queen Dowager Margarethe, who was assigned Hainburg as his residence after the death of the last Babenberger, may have lived in this palace.
