The small Strukkamphuk lighthouse, only five meters high, is located on the west side of Fehmarn near the Fehmarnsund passage, about two kilometers north of the Fehmarnsund Bridge, which connects the island to the mainland. It was built entirely of concrete in 1934/35 and put into operation in January 1935.

The lighthouse can be reached by bike either from the town of Fehmarnsund along the coastal path or from Strukkamp via the campsite (free passage to the beach and the lighthouse). The lighthouse itself is not open to the public.

Up until the end of the 19th century, at the present location of the Strukkamphuk lighthouse, a lantern was raised every evening for shipping to provide orientation. In 1896, with the construction of the five meter high, octagonal iron beacon, a fixed landmark was created for the first time: to this day, the Strukkamphuk lighthouse as a front light together with the Flügger lighthouse show ships coming from the east the way into the sound. In 1935 the iron beacon gave way to a white, round concrete building. Strukkamphuk Lighthouse is a listed building.
