La Fiadora is a small stream that rises near Valmareno from a small spring in Valchius. The canal runs from north to south, meeting the Corin stream near the Ponte del Cristo in Follina. Shortly before it forks into two branches, one of which heads south-west, passes under the altar of the Basilica and flows into the Follina River. This ancient pipeline still conveys the waters to the abbey's fountains. The springs were channeled at the beginning of the 13th century by the Cistercian monks. The name Fiadora (or also Filadora) derives from “filare”, as it provided energy to the historic textile factories of Follina. In the past it also fed the old woolen mill of Palazzo Barberis - Rusca. The setting up of the current thematic path that winds between the Corin and the Fiadora (trail sign 1029) is the result of the collaboration between the municipal administration of Follina and the students of the Fogazzaro institute, who wanted to enhance this place by presenting its aspects historical-naturalists through illustrative signs.
