It survived the great city fire in 1806 and was removed when the town hall was renovated in 1862. Since that time she has disappeared.
When the cemetery forecourt was redesigned in 1994/97, the old cemetery wall had to be knocked down, and parts of the pillar came to light after 130 years. On these parts, location information and travel hours could still be seen. After years of research and funding through grants and donations, a replica of the post mile post could be re-erected at the old location in July 2000 by the local history association in Roßwein.
It consists of sandstone, was assembled from eight individual parts, is 5.07 meters high and weighs 4.5 tons including the base.
