This scenic circular tour starts at the castle parking lot in St. Peter in der Au and offers a successful combination of nature, culinary delights, and cultural highlights.
First, the route heads toward the Inzinghof settlement, past the idyllically situated Hartmühl, to the first culinary stop: the Gridling cider tavern, where regional dishes invite you to refuel.
Refreshed, the route leads past the Haiml nursery toward Haag. At the Zauchhof, I turn off and cross a section of the Salaberger Forest – a wonderfully shady stretch. The route then continues along the edge of the forest to Hochwall, where I cross the Westbahn railway line.
The route then leads through Holzleiten to Imberg and further toward Heimberg. Here, I turn toward the Westautobahn and continue along the motorway to the Strengberg rest stop, where a short break is recommended.
The route then continues to Aukental, then via Oberaschbach and Samesbruck to Aschbach-Markt.
A spiritual highlight awaits me at the Marian pilgrimage site of Krenstetten, where I visit the church and take a moment to relax.
Finally, the route leads past Seitenstetten airfield and back to the starting point in St. Peter in der Au.
