The zoo was integrated into an old park🥀 and offers a special atmosphere with its resting and resting places🪑.

Straubing Zoo is currently home to over 2000 individuals of around 200 species, mainly mammals🦁, birds🦩, reptiles🐊, amphibians🐸 and fish🐠. The zoo takes part in several European🇪🇺conservation breeding programs, for example for bison🦬, Amur tigers🐅, African penguins🐧 or Bali starlings🐦‍⬛. It is a partner zoo of the Endowment for Species Protection and a member of various national and international zoo associations and species protection organizations such as WAZA and ZGAP.
