The Yavuzköy Şemsi Paşa mosque is one of the most important works that has been preserved within the boundaries of the Köşk district from the Ottoman period to the present day. It is rumored that the Yavuzköy Şemsi Pasha Mosque was built by Ahmet Şemsi Pasha in 1654 together with the Şemsi Mosque in Aydın. In the case of Şemsi Pasha's foundation in the Aydın Foundations Directorate, however, the impression arises that it was created before that date. Perhaps the inscription on the front door was renewed later. The mosque was destroyed during the Aydın earthquake and later renovated. Hence, it is believed that the date on the inscription was changed.
