The Church of São Domingos, or Church of Santa Cruz, belonged to the former Monastery of Santa Cruz, founded by the Dominicans. It is a 16th-century building, constructed between 1566 and 1576, based on the plans of the Dominican Frijar Julio Romero, the same architect who designed the Church of São Gonçalo de Amarante.
The church boasts beautiful and noteworthy interiors. It also houses the tomb of the martyr St. Bartholomew.
