The Town Hall of Neustadt / Aisch is a stately Baroque building (1711-1715) on the leafy marketplace in the pedestrian zone. It was once a department store, burnt down in 1947, and then remodeled in 1949-1951. Worth seeing is also the clock tower with a circulating at 12 o'clock and complaining Geißbock, the landmark of the city. The Geißbock reminds according to the legend of the salvation of the city in the year 1461, when troops of the Bavarian Duke Ludwig besieged them. A tailor sewed himself into the skin of the last billy goat to fake the enemy an abundance of food.
