The bronze dockworker at the southern end of the bridge commemorates the western port, which was in operation until 1999. The view of this old western harbor with the "Gerippten" is particularly impressive.

Shortly before the middle of the Friedensbrücke, the view goes to the left to the Westhafen. Where the port workers toiled in the past, there are residential buildings for the wealthy next to the "Gerippten", the high-rise building modeled on the apple wine glass. In the lagoon, the yachts are right on the doorstep.
Behind these buildings the silhouette of the tax office with the hats - more on that later.
On the other side of the bridge is the IG Metall high-rise building and the DGB building, which remind us that Frankfurt was once a working-class city. Those who take care of themselves invest their savings with Union Investment - if there is anything left at all.
