The spring is named after one of its discoverers, the late František Baroch from the administration of the Slavkovskie Forest. He was a local conservationist, speleologist and mining history expert who, among other things, discovered the entrance to the historic Jeroným mine in 1982. The spring rises on the right bank of the Pramenské brook on the south-west edge of the village of Prameny. In the immediate vicinity, on the left and right banks of the Pramenské creek, there are other mineral springs, the most famous of which was the Vincent spring, which has now been devastated. In the park of the former spa, about 300 meters from the Baroch spring, the Rudolf and Gisela springs were renovated in 2012-2013.
