The parish was probably founded before 1022 and mentioned in documents in 1188.
The building is dominated by the generous neo-Romanesque extension from 1904 to 1908 and 1922 made of Baumberg sandstone and a copper-covered roof. The architect of the 1922 construction project was Ludwig Becker.
