The beautiful Marienkirche is one of three medieval churches in Salzwedel's old town. In front of the entrance to the Marienkirche there is a listed old winter linden tree, the streets around the church are cobbled and have beautiful old half-timbered houses. Both the Marienkirche and the surrounding area are an absolute highlight and definitely worth seeing. If you are already impressed by this church from the outside, you should definitely go inside. One is amazed. The legend of the Marienkirche and the giant Jan Kahl is also very interesting. On the way around the church there is a plaque with a picture and text.
