The water tower of the Hanseatic city of Salzwedel is exactly 43.7 m high. Actually a beautiful old water tower built in 1903.

In 2013 it was decided to sell the water tower. The water tower is privately owned.

The 44 meter high building was built in 1903 according to plans by the Salzwedel architect Albert Strauchenbruch. The neo-Gothic building was used for water supply until 1981. After that, the tower was shut down. The tower was sold in 2013 and is now residential.
