Very beautiful town hall, fits well into the beautiful Zschopau valley. It is a real gem. The market square around it also looks attractive.

After the old town hall was demolished, which had become too small, the new building, built in Art Nouveau style, was opened in 1902. It was intended to symbolize Waldheim's economic boom at the turn of the century. The facade, which is artistically impressively designed with Rochlitz porphyry, and its decorative elements point to the town of Waldheim's origins as a forest settlement. In the crownings and frames, reveals and spandrels, gnarled branches and delicate twigs, intertwined roots and tendrils, oak shoots and pine cones appear. The sundial should also be mentioned here.

But the town hall is also a gem inside. You enter the entrance hall with its leaded windows through the magnificent entrance portal.

The council chamber with its historical paintings is particularly worth mentioning.
