The church in Schammelsdorf was built between 2003 and April 2005. She bears the honorary title of the Mother of God who is not shown here as a figure, but as an icon. The original was made in the 14th century and is kept in the church of Sant Alfonso in Rome. The icon was made by a qualified Russian icon painter from Moscow. The church offers space for about 100 believers and belongs to the parish of Litzendorf.
