                The world is still fine up there at the Toni Lenz Hütte 👍. Anyone who gets up there can assume that it is not overrun by tourists. This is where hikers are out and about who don't need any fancy frills. Just a good snack and something to drink. If necessary, there is also a bed to sleep on here 👍

                                This suggestion forgets that you have to get to the hut first. 6km, ~950m elevation gain. So plan your tour carefully.

                                    I took a bus 25 from salzburg until the end stop. Then walked about 40min to reach the starting point. The trail was very beautiful and fun for 2hrs. At 3hrs I was tired. The last hours was difficult but the view was so rewarding, seeing the mountain while standing in the middle of clouds was something I had never experienced. Leave early, dress warm, steady shoes, a rain jacket, food & drinks, a power bank.

                                      In 1936, the Speleology Association built a shelter below the ice cave, which Toni Lenz managed for years. After the construction of a larger shelter by the Speleology Association at the Schellenberger Ice Cave was completed in 1936, he became the innkeeper of this hut. Toni Lenz was not only known for his friendly nature, but also for delicacies such as his excellent Kaiserschmarren, his tasty pea soup and his herring butter (jokingly called Laussalbe) made according to a secret recipe.
                                      In 1950 the cave association celebrated its 25th anniversary. At the festive evening, the landlord Toni Lenz received a special honor. Because he furnished the hut so lovingly, managed the hut operations in such an excellent way and was also one of the most popular hut keepers in the Berchtesgadener Land, it was decided to give the hut his name....
