This panorama, which recalls the Semois at Rochehaut/Frahan or the Tombeau du Géant at Ucimont-Botassart, is splendid, peaceful and majestic at the same time, the place is a promontory with a whole ridge to follow on a mountain-type forest path but not dangerous at all, with an absolutely unmissable view of the valley!

Perched 120 meters above the Ourthe valley, the site owes its name to the fact that it was once a nesting site, particularly for peregrine falcons, which have disappeared from this area since 1958. The cliff itself is barely visible from the valley, as it is largely hidden by vegetation.

North of Esneux, the Roche aux Faucons is a cliff dominating the left side of the Ourthe valley, at the height of a meander of great aesthetic, scientific and landscape value, classified as "Grand site paysager de la boucle de l'Ourthe ". This limestone rock was carved out of the valley by the river and takes its name from the fact that it used to be a breeding ground for the peregrine falcon (Falco peregrinus), which, after disappearing for several decades, seems to be reclaiming the place. The entire slope is covered with hillside forest in which various special calm-loving plants flourish, such as the Male Orchid (Orchis mascula), the Purple Orchid (Orchis purpurea) and the Yellow Dogwood (Cornus mas). At 220 metres high, this limestone cliff offers breathtaking views over the meandering Ourthe valley near Esneux. Once a breeding ground for peregrine falcons, this natural monument is now a protected landscape and one of the most beautiful panoramas in Wallonia. This place is absolutely magical. I happened to be there on a misty morning, when the valley was filled with fog. I was myself in full sun and I heard everything that was happening in the valley where there is a farm, and I admired in front of me the wonderful hamlet of Ham, well known to many artists. I felt outside the world although fully within it. There are few experiences like this in a lifetime. You have to go to La Roche-aux-Faucons at least once in a lifetime!

The Roche aux Faucons (translated into Dutch: Falcon Rock) is a viewpoint on a rock in the municipality of Neupré in the Belgian province of Liège. The rock is located southeast of Boncelles and northwest of Esneux. The rock rises steeply above a meander of the Ourthe.
The rock consists of a ridge with the Ourthe at the foot of the rock on the south side. On the north side of the ridge is a small valley with a river that flows behind the ridge high above the Ourthe. At some point, that river disappears into a sinkhole to flow underground to the Ourthe.

The Ourthe is the most water-rich tributary of the Meuse. This is particularly impressive after heavy rain. Since it flows powerfully. Then there is also rapid flooding on the paths along the Ourthe. While the Roche-aux-Faucons slopes are a popular cycling destination, the viewpoint is only accessible on foot: a few meters from a small parking lot or via the ridge trail. It overlooks the Ourthe loop from approximately 120 meters.
