A complex that is absolutely worth seeing, the former Benedictine Abbey of Banz Monastery is located on the Banzberg and can be seen from afar. From above there is a wonderful view of the Main Valley. There is a shady beer garden right at the entrance and a beer garden with a view at the climbing garden. Today the monastery is an educational institution of the Hanns Seidel Foundation.

The former Benedictine Abbey of Banz Monastery is visible from afar like a landmark on the Banzberg high above the Main Valley in Upper Franconia. The monastery is now used by the Hanns Seidel Foundation as an educational facility and as a backdrop for the “Lieder auf Banz”. You can visit the monastery and the museum on a guided tour. The monastery church is also well worth seeing. The concerts of the Banz Organ Summer in the collegiate church are popular. The monastery belongs to the ensemble of the Gottesgarten in the Upper Mainland.

Well, you can do that. Above the forest is the Waldschänke with a beautiful view, but only drinks and maybe pumpkin soup. Awesome trail over the Maximilianspfad and downhill to Grundfeld. Apart from the museum, there is only the courtyard and the church to visit.
