In memory of the Ruhpolding community's fallen soldiers in the Franco-Prussian War of 1870/71 and in both World Wars, their names are inscribed here on marble slabs. The chapel was designed by the Munich architect Willi Erb. Inside is a Pietà carved from linden wood, a depiction of Mary as Mater Dolorosa (Our Lady of Sorrows) with the body of Jesus Christ taken down from the cross. It was created by the Munich sculptor Georg Wallisch. Next to it lies a brass book with the names of those missing from the Second World War. The chapel was consecrated on September 16, 1923.
