The Theresienstein is one of the most beautiful German public parks. It invites you to romantic walks and dreamy corners. In 2003 the Theresienstein was even named the most beautiful park of the year. In the middle of Theresienstein you will find the Hof Zoo and the Botanical Garden. From 1819 on, the previously completely bare area on the Fröhlichenstein was planted and designed as a park. On August 22nd, 1836, Queen Therese of Bavaria visited the Fröhlichenstein, on this occasion the park was named "Theresienstein" in honor of the distinguished visitor.
