The Überlandcentrale Heegermühle was built in 1909, financed by the Berliner AEG and the Zürcher Elektrobank. The power plant was the supply base and nucleus of the newly founded Märkisches Electricitätswerk (MEW), later the largest energy supply company in the Mark. From here, the region should be electrified; in particular, they hoped for the settlement of energy-intensive industry along the newly built Oder-Havel Canal.
In 1991, the power plant was finally shut down. The ruin is a listed building; but expires rapidly. In 2006/2007, the boiler house had to be demolished. Whether at least the historic machinery and control room can be obtained, is uncertain because of the enormous cost of a renovation.

Unfortunately only the machine house is left, the coal port can still be guessed at. The building is increasingly falling into disrepair and is difficult to see even in winter without foliage.
