The mountain lakes in South Tyrol are so high that there is often still snow on their banks in summer. The 10 Spronser lakes are located in the Texel Group high above Lagundo and supply a large part of the city of Merano and its surroundings with water. The first lakes that can be reached from the Leiter Alm above Lagundo in Meraner Land are the two milk lakes (2,540 m asl) after about 3 hours. The Langsee, 1 km long and 300 m wide, is one of the largest (2,377 m a.s.l.) and the next in line.
