St. Mary's Church in Beeskow is a three-aisled church in the North German Brick Gothic style.

An imposing building, it was originally designed to accommodate approximately 2,000 worshippers. The church had a difficult start – after its completion in 1511, two fires followed in the first and second years of its existence. The last major fire occurred in 1945.

In 1530, the Reformation reached Beeskow and thus also the parish. The church, originally designed for the Catholic rite, was rebuilt, and the crucifixion group disappeared.

Protestant masses are held in the church. The parish website does not provide any information about guided tours or other tourist uses.

The Sankt Marienkirche is the most central and oldest church in Beeskow, which characterizes the cityscape very much. It was probably built between 1380 and 1511. In April 1945 was destroyed by a fire starting from 1990, with government donation subsidies, with the reconstruction begun.

As with all medieval churches, St. Mary's originally had a burial site around the church - the medieval inner-city churchyard. The origin of burials in or in the immediate vicinity of the parish church goes back a long way into Christian church history and is based on the desire to be buried near a sacred space. The centrally located inner-city cemetery was an integral part of life for the medieval population. It was not until the 18th and 19th centuries that the cemeteries were moved to the outskirts of the cities.
