    The walled enclosure and wall of Tosa de Mar is located in the municipality of Tosa de Mar, Gerona. Declared a National Historic-Artistic Monument in 1931. It is located in Vila Vella, being the only example of a fortified medieval town on the Costa Brava.

      With its back to the sea, at the foot of the northwest slope of the promontory facing Cape Tossa, is Vila Vella, protected by a walled enclosure in the most vulnerable sectors facing the bay and the coast. La Vila Vella, with irregular and narrow streets to overcome the unevenness of the hill, extends within a walled enclosure that has a perimeter of about 300 m. Of this enclosure, a canvas of wall with seven round towers is currently conserved, of which three are differentiated by the greater height and by the finish with corsers, formed by stepped corbels that support small round point arches.

        The tower "Castell de Tossa de Mar" is like the "Far de Tossa de Mar" on the hill near the old town. You can easily reach it on foot, but it is closed and therefore not accessible.

        But for fabulous views all around, you only have to climb a few steps further to the top of the hill.
