A mute eyewitness from the 11th century. The castle was the victim of the Thirty Years War, in which it was completely looted and destroyed. Since then it lies fallow and is unfortunately not to commit because of collapse danger. From a distance, you still have a pretty photo opportunity.

The ruins of Erpernburg Castle, also known as Niederburg, are located in a valley north of Brenken, in the immediate vicinity of the Alme stream. The facility is now in private collection in a small tree collection and is completely surrounded by cultivated arable land. Due to the risk of collapse and a lack of access, there is only the possibility to view the remains from a distance from the surrounding paths.

Little is known about Erpernburg Castle. The castle was probably built in the 11th century and was probably originally a moated castle. The castle is looted and destroyed in the Thirty Years' War.
