There is a giant sequoia by the wayside. He comes from the Wilhelma Saat and is about 150 years old. A sign provides information.

In 1864, King Wilhelm I of Württemberg commissioned the royal forest authorities in the state to grow thousands of young plants of the exotic tree species. The young plants were then systematically planted in exposed locations in the royal forests and in numerous palace gardens and parks in Württemberg. Over 300 are still standing!
