You do not necessarily have to drive the way to the summit cross to have a fantastic view of the valley. The place at the chapel Landskron is simply fantastically beautiful. You can already see the small chapel at the top of the mountain from the valley (from the west).

The Maria-Hilf-Kapelle (commonly called the "Landskroner Kapelle") lies to the west below the Landskrone. The chapel was first mentioned in 1212. From here you have a fantastic view of Heimersheim, Ehlingen and Neuenahr.

The climb to the Landskrone is quite strenuous in these temperatures – despite the mostly shady path – but it's worth it:
-1- for the view of the Ahr Valley far beyond, and
-2- to offer intercession or thanks to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Although the chapel is locked and therefore not accessible for lighting a candle, for example, it is easy to view the interior through a window in the door. And prayer cannot be hindered by walls or doors...
