Next to the Pfisterturm stood the Wolfsturm - together they framed the Gate of the Millers (Porte des meuniers) (and were destroyed at the same time).
The arches over the Lauter used to be fitted with locks to regulate the flow of the river and the rafting of timber. One of these old locks can still be admired here.
