The forest spirit path is a wide path in the Otterbach valley, a good 2 km long.

On every corner there is a new, great, funny and/or bizarre piece of wood carving.

It is the life's work of Volker Dahl from Oberotterbach, who spent countless hours voluntarily making the forest spirit figures from tree trunks along the path.

Thank you very much for these great works.

I hope they will remain preserved for a very long time.

The artist also has a small gallery in Oberotterbach with smaller works to look at or buy.

Since I am an absolute fan of his artwork, I treated myself to "The Perspective" in 2013.

The forest ghost trail can be easily combined with a visit to the Guttenberg castle ruins and, at the end, a visit to the forest restaurant in the Schützenhaus, which is located at the beginning of the forest ghost trail.

The path starts at the Schützenhaus in Oberotterbach, where you can also park. The pram-friendly path always leads straight ahead into the forest, parallel to the Otterbach. On warm days you can also play nice here, there are some places that are easily accessible. The goal of the path is Gustav, the snail. However, the poor guy has already passed away after more than 30 years due to the weather, which is why only a miniature snail reminds us of it at the end point. But there is so much to see along the way that you won't get bored. Convince yourself in the pictures. Let the children look for the figures and take a little time with them.
