Gravel sections on the top of the dike are fine with the road bike and offer better views. Especially in wet weather, the sheep droppings on the farm track are a less favorable alternative.

Fantastic section of the Elbe Cycle Path between Lütkenwisch and Mödlich. You can either drive on the mostly paved farm road north of the dike (before Mödlich this is not paved, here composite paving stones) or on the top of the dike. However, the top of the dike is not paved, but has a gravel surface. This is also easy to drive with 23 tires, but carries the risk of a flat tire. In summer you have to change the route from time to time, as sheep, as natural lawnmowers, block the passage

Sometimes not ideal for racing bikes. Sometimes better to take the concrete parallel path (may contain traces of animals, but still better).
