Field flora reserve in the Taunus
The cultural landscape club

In 1997, the Botanical Association Tatmus recorded the diversity of plants in this - some botanically still little explored - low mountain ranges. During the mapping, the unusual species richness of the fields around the Schlangenbader district Hausen v.d. Height up! Here rare field herbs such as the seedwort flower, the field snapdragon and the fringed lamb's lettuce were found.

The open-mindedness of the community, the owner and the farmers made it possible to set up a field flora reserve (FFR). In painstaking detail work, the area was jointly developed by the botanical AG Taunus, represented by Dr. med. Wolfgang Ehmke and the farmer Wenzel Taut prepared and sown with old cultivars such as spelled, emmer, einkorn, flax and buckwheat. Information boards explain local cultures and wild plants. At the same time, the Kulturlandschaftsverein Hausen v.d.H was founded, consisting of committed citizens responsible for the care and maintenance of the reserve. In June 2001, the FFR Hausen v.d.H. inaugurated.
