The impressive Benedictine monastery was built in 1083 for a canonical community and handed over to the Benedictines eleven years later. By the middle of the 18th century, the magnificent building was made what today proudly towers at 422 meters above the Danube. The monastery has also been a World Heritage Site since 2000.
There is a museum in the imperial wing of the abbey. After the tour, you can dine in the abbey restaurant.
