Today's Heine Park in the district of Hamburg Ottensen belonged to the former estate of John Blacker, who probably had already created in the early 1790s on his property a garden to English pattern. In 1812, then the Hamburg Salomon Heine acquired the possession of Blacker's heirs. After the great fire of 1842, the banker had supported Hamburg considerably with his fortune and thus most likely saved it from bankruptcy.

In 1832 Heine had a small gardener and porter's house built on his estate. The classicistic plaster construction with pan covered gable roof accommodated a 34 m², oval garden room with domed ceiling and stucco decoration. In 1962, the gardener's house was put under protection after it threatened to expire. Finally, founded in 1975, the association "Heine House e.V." and renovated the building. Since then, regular lecture series and Sunday matinees have been held there. In addition, there is a gallery with a memory room with pictures, photographs and documents, which not only remind of Salomon Heine, but also of his famous nephew, the poet Heinrich Heine, who worked for a short time in Hamburg from 1815 onwards.

Only in 1984, the "Park at the Maritime School" in "Heine Park" renamed and publicly accessible again by a bridge renovation of Donners Park. In March 2007, the ensemble "Heine Park" was added to the list of monuments of the city of Hamburg. After three years of extensive renovation, the Plangesche Villa now shines in new splendor since 2010 and is now used by the "Business Club Hamburg" as a clubhouse.

The Heine Park is quite clear. In the middle of it is the Heine-Villa, seat of the Business Club Hamburg (BCH). You can have breakfast and from the inside (but also outside) a nice view over the Elbe.

Heine Park is one of the parks on the banks of the Elbe. The park had changing owners at the beginning of the 19th century, including the Blacker family, the merchant Peter Rücker and the auctioneer Wilhelm August Frisch. The park was designed according to plans by Joseph Ramée.

In 1812, the banker Salomon Heine, an uncle of Heinrich Heine, bought the property and expanded the property in the following years.

The former garden house, built in 1832 and now known as the Heine House (Elbchaussee 31), is located directly on the Elbchaussee. It was listed as a historical monument in 1962 and has been an outpost of the Altona Museum since 2001.

The park also contains the "Plangesche Villa" (Elbchaussee 43), built in 1913 and now a listed building, which is now the headquarters of the "Business Club Hamburg". The Plange family bought the property at the beginning of the 20th century and had the villa built. To the south of the Plangsche Villa there is a viewing platform from which you can enjoy the view over the Elbe.

The original Heine Villa no longer exists, the floor plan is traced on an elevated seating plateau.

The property has been owned by the city of Hamburg since 1939, but has only been open to the public since the renaming of “Park an der Seefahrtschule” to Heine Park in 1984.

The Heine Park ensemble has been a listed building since 2007 as a “document of the history of country house culture on the Elbchaussee and as a testimony to the building and living culture of the early 19th and 20th centuries, as well as for local historical reasons”.
