The approximately 70 hectare large
Berry bush is a
Nature reserve
in the Oder-Spree district
in Brandenburg.
It is located east of Fürstenwalde and therefore also belongs to the Fürstenwalde city forest.
The near-natural common oak-hornbeam and alder forests are particularly worthy of protection. The berry bush is also a refuge for rare native plant species such as the lead-leaved sitter or the white forest hyacinth.
The stag beetle can also be found.
The remains of the so-called royal pine, which the later Kaiser Wilhelm I.
(who used it as a stand for a driven hunt) was so popular that he wanted to move it to his Babelsberg Park in Potsdam.
In addition, a forest adventure trail leads through the berry bush, which provides interesting information about the forest through individual stations.
