Destroyed in 1942, because it was located at the end of airstrips built by the Germans during World War II. It interfered with the landing of planes.

The objective of this site was to quickly build an aerodrome to make airlifts on a ground located on four communes: Conches, Le Fresne, Mesnil Hardray, Nagel.
The clearing began in 1939. It was the French who began the work but they were quickly put under the authority of a German command. These are French people requisitioned on site or arriving in the sector from all over France under the name of “Service Travail Obligatoire” (STO).
In 1942, three houses were demolished in Mesnil-Hardray as well as the church of Nagel
located at the end of runways and which hampered the landing of planes.
